Grupo Crecer is a community-based organization [pending 501(c)(3) status]
founded in 2002 by psychologist Grover Bravo. We provide culturally tuned
family strengthening education programs and professional development
training through community partners such as schools
and community-based organizations.

To assist families in strengthening the ties between the academic, emotional,
physical, psychological, and social components that affect their lives through
quality preventive educational programs that emphasize healthy communication
between parents and their children, reduced family violence, and the
identification and improvement of academic skills and outcomes.

Our programs are based on principles of family systems, life span development,
community and school participation towards long-term change, as
well as a family strengthening model that is being championed throughout the
country by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Grupo Crecer has developed 7 series
of eight 2-hour workshops designed to strengthen parent's roles in their
child's academic success:
