Our parent education curriculum addresses the social and environmental issues and challenges of families that are predominantly working-class, and whose children have demonstrated a need for increased parent involvement in their academic efforts.

Series 1 - Strengthening Families Towards Academic Success
8 workshops of two hours each.

The goal of this series is to increase parents’ ability to explore the emotional and behavioral factors necessary to organize their family and increase their effectiveness as parents in providing a healthy and systematic support for their children’s academic success.

The goal of this series is to provide parents with an overview of the human learning process, the major emotional, intellectual, behavioral and environmental factors that shape learning, and how discipline styles influence the learning process.

Series 4 - Strengthening Self Esteem
8 workshops of two hours each.

The goal of this series is to guide parents through an exploration of self esteem - from its origins and the formation of self concepts, to the managing of personal barriers - and to practice skills to strengthen their own and their children’s self esteem. This process is critical, since higher levels of self esteem are directly linked to higher levels of academic success

Series 5 - Improving Couple Communication
8 workshops of two hours each.

A couple that communicates effectively will create an environment that is conducive to their children’s learning. Parents and couples will improve the effectiveness of their communication through an increased understanding of several key elements of a relationship, with a focus on emotional and affective factors.Participants will also learn how to resolve conflict and manage anger in a healthy and effective manner.
